A few years ago, a co-worker of mine mentioned that he was writing plays for the kids in his life. I was intrigued. Who is the guy really? And when I later found out he had created the "Medha Jananam" workshop and was essentially offering it at nominal cost (all proceeds to charity) as an outpouring of his heart I decided to try it.

From the start, to my surprise, the serene and professional co-worker turned on like a light, shining with knowledge and passion, that lasted through both of the workshops I attended. I enjoyed all 32 hours. I learned new ways of being and thinking that will be useful for the rest of my life. He revealed insights from the thousands of years of Dharmic masters nicely neutralized by using colors instead of abstract terms. He delivered it in a modern, simple and pragmatic set of interactive discussions. It was a dance. Since my co-students were from India, often raising kids in America, we had great discussions comparing ways of living, growing, and nurturing between America and India within the context of the framework - practical applications with deep foundations. The discussions were deep, woven, and respectfully empassioned. I emerged with greater hope for humanity. I learned and they learned as we shared. For me, being raised in the United States, it helped me value and seek family and relationships, slowly being lost in America, and the richness of a culture that still embraces their importance.

Krishna forged his "framework" by 30 years of synthesizing "Dharmic Thought" with a life in the west investigating overlaps in religion, philosophy, science, society, and culture. As a long-time seeker myself, long looking at the east with western eyes, I did not know what to expect. I am by nature similar to Krishna in the way I approach the world but found the workshop helped me in unexpected ways in knowing about my nature and how to interact with folks effectively across the different ways recognized in the framework.

The workshop is still working on me in my daily life. I look forward to more advanced workshops in the future and hope more of my friends and colleagues take the time for themselves to gain this experience. And more importantly, I am looking forward to the new friends I have and will make as a result.

  • Welcome!

    Welcome to Medha Jananam!
Medja Jananam is a Sanskrit phrase,
which can be translated to 'Igniting the Intellect'.

    In our workshops, we explore
the simple as well as the complex aspects of life.
  • Life

    The Journey
    of an imperfect being
    in an imperfect world.
  • Excellence

    अयोग्यः पुरुषो नास्ति प्रयोगः तत्र दुर्लभः

    Everyone excels at some thing.
    It is the opportunities
that are difficult to come by.
  • Part and Whole

    Human is to humanity
what a cell is to the body.
  • Time

    We have to kill time
    till time kills us.
  • Live

    Live AS yourself,
    but not FOR yourself.
  • Life

    When you were born:
the universe is divided into two:
    Inside and Outside.

Life is an interaction between the two.
  • Bliss

Unless you go beyond the founder, you don’t understand religion.
Unless you go beyond religion, you don’t understand god.
Unless you go beyond god, you don’t understand spirituality.
Unless you go beyond spirituality, you don’t understand yourself.
Unless you understand yourself, you don’t find the Truth.
Unless you find the Truth, you don’t feel your fullnesss.
Unless you feel your fullness, you don't feel the bliss,
which is really what you are after.
  • Growth

You need a shell to grow.
You need to break out of the shall to grow.
You need a womb to grow.
You need to come out of the womb to grow.
You need a home to grow.
You need to get out of the home to grow.
You need a religion to grow.
You need to go beyond the religion to grow.
You need a philosophy to grow.
You need to come out of the philosophy to grow.
